New Rochelle's Gohlke Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Wednesday, September 13th , 2023 It was a parade of hits for Mike Gohlke of the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Toros Ballpark. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Gohlke finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Purple Wave to a win, 13-1. "Gohlke was really good and we were really bad," groaned Fighting Quakers manager Jeff Gray. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Mike Gohlke singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
