Top SC Reliever Honored Friday, October 28th , 2022 Luke Getts was a calming influence out of the Hartford Matadors bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 23-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Stars Conference Reliever of the Year Award for 2022. The Bloomingdale, Tennessee native won the award with 9 saves in 44 relief appearances, 56 strikeouts in 67.2 innings and a record of 3-5 to go with his 1.06 ERA. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mike Braasch of the Lubbock Stampede finished second in voting, while Salvatore Barajas of the Baxter Springs Marshals finished third.
