Royals Harriger Gone for Year
Saturday, July 20th , 2024
The doctors have spoken and Chase Harriger of the Montreal Royals didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Harriger sustained his season-ending injury during the Joilet Jesters game yesterday at Turtles Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Montreal medical staff reported Harriger had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13 months.
For the season, Harriger has earned 24 saves, worked 38.1 innings, fanned 33 hitters and recorded a 4.23 ERA. He has held opposing teams to a .267 batting average.
