Glendale's Villapando Snaps Up Player of the Week Monday, June 9th , 2025 Glendale fans have something to crow about today as Glendale first baseman Javy Villapando nabbed the Stars Conference Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Villapando. He posted a .520 average (13-for-25) this past week with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. This year, Villapando has hit at a .284 clip with 54 hits, 7 home runs, 28 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
