Baker Dominates Hartford
Tuesday, May 20th , 2025
The Hartford Matadors were almost helpless in their 7-0 loss to the Montreal Royals and hurler Justin Baker. Baker kept the Matadors confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Baker," Hartford manager Jesse Heugly said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 31-year-old left-hander had no walks and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Baker said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
Up to now Baker has recorded a record of 2-2. In 8 starts he has fanned 47 batters in 51 innings with a 3.00 ERA.
