Orono Halts Cabriales's Hitting Steak Friday, April 21st , 2023 The hitting streak that Walnut Park first baseman Ruben Cabriales had kept going for 23 games was ended by the Orono Oaks. Cabriales was stymied over 3 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 3-1 victory at Ballpark of Walnut Park. "Hitting streaks come and go," Cabriales said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." This year, Cabriales is hitting .341, produced 9 RBIs and 5 home runs, scored 10 times and gotten on base at a .449 rate. |
