Verduzco Blisters Lake Brantley High School
Taravella High School left fielder Alex Verduzco had a big day at Lake Brantley High School Baseball Field against the Lake Brantley High School Patriots. The 17-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 6-for-6 and led to the 11-3 Trojans triumph over Lake Brantley High School.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Verduzco said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Alex Verduzco singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Beal in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Josh McDaid in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In the current season, Verduzco has put up a .338 batting average with 49 hits, 20 home runs, 46 runs batted in and scored 37 runs.
