Fighting Quakers Stymie Orono, Take 6-1 Win
|
The Quebec Fighting Quakers racked up a win at Toros Ballpark, bumping off the Orono Oaks, 6-1. Nick Dragon, who started for Quebec, pitched effectively for his team. In 7 innings, Dragon surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Quebec is in second place in the Stripes Conference West Division with a record of 77-47.
Juan Garza had a big grand slam home run for the Fighting Quakers in the bottom of the first inning. With Quebec leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Jeff Sharp, the 30th overall pick in the 2018 draft, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Fighting Quakers on top, 5-0.
