New Rochelle Topples Quebec, 3-1
|
New Rochelle Purple Wave starter Fred Taylor hurled his team past the Quebec Fighting Quakers, 3-1. Marcos Rosas earned the save for New Rochelle. At 66-47, the Purple Wave find themselves in third place in the Stripes Conference East Division.
The Purple Wave got a big at-bat from designated hitter Malcolm Babcock. For the game, Babcock was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 25th home run of the season gave New Rochelle a 1-0 lead.
New Rochelle manager Brent Boudreau commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
