The Ann Arbor Z's had to overcome a fine effort from Quebec pitcher Chris Huyard to win, 6-5, at Toros Ballpark. Huyard went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Chris Runte finished to wrap up his 1st save. With the win, Ann Arbor is 20-86.
Ann Arbor used the timely hitting of Vinny Medina to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Z's on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Medina.
