Hamilton Bulldogs starter Branden Covington pitched his team past the Sonoma Scorpions, 4-2. Covington, now 8-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Steve McManus wrapped it up, recording his 15th save.

Joel Angulo, who is tied for 6th in the W-AA with a .285 batting average, aided the Hamilton cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Covington.

The Bulldogs saw their record improve to 79-48.
