The Hialeah Firecats converted a terrific effort from starter John Pritt into a win over the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Miami. The Firecats won the game by a final score of 4-2. The win puts Hialeah at 40-83.

Hialeah used the hitting of John Gonzales to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Firecats on top, 4-1. For the game, Gonzales had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"John is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Hialeah manager John Costa.
