The Scorpions grabbed a win, 3-1, at Ballpark of North Richland Hills, overcoming a fine effort from Cornwall pitcher Rob Stech. Stech went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The Scorpions lead the Western AA Coastal Division by a game.

Bill Hoeltke chipped in for Sonoma, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3 with a double.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Hoeltke.
