Royals Pick Up 2-1 Road Win Over London
|
The London Tigers were defeated, 2-1, by the Cornwall Royals at Ballpark of Oklahoma City, even though John Cochran pitched well for London. Kelly Powell nailed down the save. Cornwall, at 60-51, sits in second place in the Western AA Central Division.
The Tigers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Royals going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Mike Bolden came to the plate. Bolden hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 changeup from London hurler John Cochran. It was Bolden's 9th home run of the year.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Bolden.
