Miami Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
No one was more impactful than Dave Garcia in an extra-inning, 6-5 Miami win over Stockton. Garcia, who is tied for 10th in the W-AA in home runs with 21, was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The Miami win streak is now 3 games.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 23-year old catcher Jordan Corral had a chance to be the hero. Stockton pitcher Jim Unknown wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Corral drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Boll Weevils had themselves a thrilling win.
Corral said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
