Josh Mahan had a good game, but he could not keep the Sonoma Scorpions from falling, 5-4, to the St. Louis Cavalry at Cavalry Ballpark. The Sonoma catcher hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice in the loss. Eric Whiting claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-2. With the win, St. Louis goes to 42-63, while the Scorpions fall to 63-42.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for St. Louis. That's when Marcus Greene hit a run-scoring double off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Mauricio Martinez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Greene said in his postgame press conference.
