Jody Fouse, who is tied for 5th in the W-AA with a 3.71 ERA, imposed his will on the Bombardiers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Vail triumph. At 59-47, the Tigercats have a slim two-game lead in the Western AA Central Division.

Vail took a 4-0 lead on Nick Taylor's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Taylor hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cincinnati pitcher Alex Martinez visibly frustrated.

"Jody is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Vail manager Mike Alexander.
