The 9-6 Vail win over Hialeah was due largely to Jake Myers. The Tigercats second baseman was 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Vail starter Steve Pikula was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-6. Danny Gonzales picked up the save for Vail, his 3rd of the year.

Vail used the bat of Ryan Anderson to get the win. The first baseman hit a sinker from John Pritt out of the park for a 2-run home run. The blast came in the top of the first inning and put the Tigercats on top, 2-0. It was Anderson's lone hit, but it left a mark.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Anderson said. "We did a good job of that today."

The Tigercats now have a mark of 57-46.
