Stockton beat Vail at Ballpark of Stockton, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Nick Bigelow. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. David Koontz snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Danny Gonzales suffered the loss. With this game in the books, Stockton is 52-47, Vail 55-44.

The decisive blow was delivered by Adam Barker in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Gonzales to win the game for Stockton. The home crowd went nuts.
