Stadia de Leones was the site of a tense game between the Columbus Bowsers and Barrie Admirals.
Chris Reed was superb against Columbus. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the S-A in complete games with 1, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Admirals victory. The score was 3-1. Chad Baillargeon finished the game for Barrie and earned his 10th save.
In the top of the ninth, Cesar Berrios stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Bowsers were trailing 3-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Chad Baillargeon made a terrific pitch and Berrios flied out. Gone was the dream of a Columbus comeback.
The third-place Admirals have won 4 in a row.
