Despite a great performance by Dollywood catcher Josh Jackson, the Kalamazoo Comets defeated the Partons by the score of 12-11 at Wizards Stadium. Jackson was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Mike Gunter in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Banks took the loss. The Comets now have a record of 37-98.

The Comets got a clutch hit from center fielder Cody Brown. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Comets.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Brown. "And not try to do too much."
