Atlanta pitcher Bobby Lucero had a large part in his team beating the Kalamazoo Comets, 4-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Victor Duran earned the save for Atlanta, his 1st of the year. The Aggies sport a record of 50-80.

The Comets had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Aggies going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old shortstop Victor Cruz came to the plate. Cruz hit a solo home run on a first pitch fastball from Kalamazoo hurler Jason Casale. It was Cruz's 3rd home run of the year.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cruz. "And not try to do too much."
