Aggies Lose 6-3 Decision to Kalamazoo
|
Kalamazoo and Atlanta duked it out and the Comets came out victorious.
The Kalamazoo Comets licked the Atlanta Aggies, 6-3. Cameron Stubbs deserved a big chunk of the credit. The first baseman went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Comets. Harvey Grainger, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Mike Gunter closed the game out for Kalamazoo, earning his 2nd save.
Stubbs had a key at-bat for Kalamazoo in the top of the first. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Kalamazoo an early 2-0 lead.
"Cameron is still learning," said Comets manager Morgan Van Dyke. "The sky's the limit for him."
Kalamazoo is now 36-93, while Atlanta is 49-80.
