Pendergrass Stars in 8-1 Win for Nashua
|
Ben Pendergrass was a major contributor to the 8-1 Nashua win over Columbus. The Sweepers center fielder was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Steve Quintero, who threw 107 pitches over 8.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. The Sweepers improved their record to 70-57 with the win over Columbus.
In the top of the second, Pendergrass had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run single off Andres Garcia that staked the Sweepers to a 2-0 lead.
"We came out aggressive," said Sweepers manager Steve Reid. "We came out swinging the bats."
