Admirals Take Tight Tilt
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Barrie Admirals and White Deer Tropics.
Barrie Admirals starter Nick Beck turned in a sparkling performance against the White Deer Tropics, leading his team to a 3-2 win. The winner was Beck. He threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Bernie Rodriguez. Jerardo Perez was credited with the save, his 32nd in 35 tries.
The Admirals got a big at-bat from right fielder Jimmy Rash. For the game, Rash went 2 for 3 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 8th triple of the season gave Barrie a 2-1 lead.
"Nick was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Barrie manager Manny Uset.
The Admirals sport a record of 80-42.
