Thrilling Victory Pushes Fighting Quakers Win Streak to 9
|
The Fighting Quakers kept their hot streak going.
Quebec got a terrific performance from pitcher Nate Briceno, but it wasn't enough to beat the Quebec Fighting Quakers. Quebec won the Belmont Park contest, 6-3. Briceno threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The save went to Josh Harkey, number 26 for him.
Ben Leonardi, who is tied for 3rd in the StC in total bases with 186, helped out the Quebec cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"Guys seem to be putting together some really nice at-bats right now," said Fighting Quakers manager Jeff Gray.
The wins continue to add up for Quebec. The latest makes it 9 in a row.
