Bobcats Lose, 4-2, at Pilots Ballpark
|
Denver Pilots pitcher Carlos Martinez whisked his team past the Walnut Park Bobcats, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Martinez, now 4-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. So far in 2025, Denver is 24-36.
Jason Mata had a big 2-run double for the Pilots in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Denver leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Steve McCutcheon and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pilots ahead, 4-1.
"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Martinez.
