Milkmen Drop Bombardiers, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Vermont Milkmen and the Cincinnati Bombardiers, pitcher Daniel Williams was the difference between victory and defeat. The Vermont right-hander earned kudos in the 2-1 Milkmen win. Williams got the win, improving to 3-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. The win has Vermont at 24-35.
Craig Kelley went 1 for 3 with a walk against the Bombardiers. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Vermont in front, 2-1.
In comments to the Vermont Daily, Kelley admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
