Cincinnati Tops Vermont, 7-4
|
Cincinnati took on Vermont in front of a lively crowd.
The Cincinnati Bombardiers licked the Vermont Milkmen, 7-4. Justin Bobb deserved a big chunk of the credit. The left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk for the Bombardiers. Steve Dunn, the winner, is now 3-6. He struck out 3 and walked 1 over 8 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. Max Mascareno locked down his 10th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Jared Kessler, the 23-year old center fielder . Kessler contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Cincinnati up, 5-3.
Bobb called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
Cincinnati, at 23-35, occupies 4th place in the Western AA Coastal Division.
