Red-Hot Scorpions Win Again
|
Freddy Vazquez had a strong outing for the Sonoma Scorpions against the Stockton Ragin Cajuns at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Vazquez, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Jason Burget, his 8th.
Justin Blaylock, the Sonoma second baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Scorpions. For the game, Blaylock was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"This game is about whoever is putting up more runs," said Scorpions manager Keith Young. "Simple as that."
The second-place Scorpions bumped their record to 32-27.
