Brian Nichols never let Atlanta get something going. The Mexico City right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Aztecs to a 4-0 win. In 5.2 innings, Nichols surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. With the win, Mexico City raised its record to 50-21.

The Aztecs got a big at-bat from catcher Andrew Woodall. For the game, Woodall went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Mexico City a 1-0 lead.
