Lumberjacks Shut Out Werewolves, 4-0
|
The Bangor Lumberjacks racked up a win at Ballpark of Bangor, bumping off the London Werewolves, 4-0. Jamie Knudson, who started for Bangor, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Knudson, now 3-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The Lumberjacks raised their record to 29-30.
John Jimenez, who is tied for 3rd in the S-A in home runs with 16, took London hurler Greg Forness deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Lumberjacks on top, 3-0. In all, Jimenez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"Jamie pitched like a champ," said Bangor manager Shawn Banks.
