Both teams had their chances, but the Dollywood Partons eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring contest between the Dollywood Partons and the Barrie Admirals, Gilberto Cortez, who is tied for 8th in the S-A in innings pitched with 69.1, proved to be the difference. The Dollywood left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Partons win. Cortez, now 8-2, was the winner. Angelo de la Cruz had a direct impact on the outcome. de la Cruz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Dollywood up, 1-0.
