Tropics Best Werewolves in Pitching Duel
Jeff Zinn, who is tied for 5th in the S-A in innings pitched with 71.0, was in top form in a tight contest between White Deer and London. The Tropics right-hander helped his team beat the Werewolves, 1-0. Zinn, the winner, moves to 3-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 4 walks. Taylor Marshall recorded the save, his 10th.

The Werewolves had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Tropics going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Mike Ross came to the plate. Ross hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 fastball from London hurler Micah Smith. It was Ross's 3rd double of the year.

"It was just a matter of executing," said White Deer manager Brendan Rees.

The 4th-place Tropics hiked their record to 25-30.
