Columbus Bowsers starter Ernesto Correa was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Kalamazoo Comets, 7-1. The win lifted the Columbus record to 31-23.

Columbus won the game in part because of Yoneo Yamamoto. The shortstop ripped a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Bowsers ahead, 2-0. For the game, Yamamoto had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Things didn't bounce our way," said Kalamazoo skipper Morgan Van Dyke.
