Big Day for Melo in 11-6 Aztecs Win
A 4-RBI performance from shortstop Alex Melo, who is tied for 8th in the S-A with a .586 slugging percentage, led the Mexico City Aztecs to a win over the Pueblo Heroes, 11-6. Bobby Cosby, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The first-place Aztecs now have a win-loss record of 40-15.

In the bottom of the second, Melo had a grand slam home run for Mexico City. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Aztecs on top, 6-3.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Mexico City manager Chris Hallman. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
