Marshalls Score Late to Nip Raccoons, 2-1

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Fremont Marshalls and the Tucson Raccoons. Fremont won it, 2-1. Fremont starter Nate Briceno was in command. The Marshalls, at 32-20, lead by one game in their division.
Fremont used the timely hitting of Juan Posadas to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Marshalls on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Watch and learn," said Posadas. "This is what good pitching looks like."
