A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Vail Tigercats and Miami Boll Weevils.

Vail Tigercats starter Aaron Daniels pitched a strong game against the Miami Boll Weevils at Vail Grounds, leading the Tigercats to victory, 5-1. The winner was Daniels. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Bob Luse. Picking up his 3rd save was fireballing left-hander Rich Sargent.

Vail took a 2-1 lead on John Lucia's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Lucia hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Miami pitcher Bob Luse visibly frustrated.

Vail manager Mike Alexander said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

The triumph puts Vail at 37-19 for the season.
