In a tight contest at Vail Grounds, the Vail Tigercats edged the Miami Boll Weevils by the score of 7-6. Vail designated hitter Jay Anagnost, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Vail now has a record of 36-19 with the win.

Early in the game, Anagnost had a 3-run home run for Vail. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Tigercats on top, 3-0.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Vail manager Mike Alexander.
