The Cornwall Royals topped the Hamilton Bulldogs, 5-3, in Western AA action at King George Park. The standout performance belonged to Cornwall pitcher and San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, native Carlos Mejia. Mark Luby recorded his 2nd save for Cornwall. Cornwall goes to 32-20, Hamilton to 31-21.

Cornwall took a 3-2 lead on Franklin de Leon's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which de Leon hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hamilton pitcher Chris Johnson visibly frustrated.

de Leon attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
