The Ann Arbor Z's got a superb performance from left fielder Paul Watson, but the Fremont Marshalls still won the game, 7-5. Watson was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Shissho Matsuno in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Jim Unknown took the loss. The Z's, now 16-34, have lost 4 straight.

Had Josh Meeker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Meeker hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Marshalls.
