The Vermont Milkmen and Augusta Capitols obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Vermont Milkmen beat the Augusta Capitols, 5-4, at Emeralds Ballpark. Jeff Rick, who is tied for 3rd in the W-AA in stolen bases with 10, starred for Vermont. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles. Matt Gardner claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-0.

Vermont first baseman Tony Perez landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. It was his 6th home run of the season. With it, the Milkmen took a 3-0 lead.

Vermont manager Mike Barriga called it "a pretty good win."
