David Morris, who is tied for 10th in the W-AA in wins with 4, imposed his will on the Royals from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 Sonoma triumph. The Scorpions, now 32-16, have won 5 in a row.

In the bottom of the second inning, right fielder Jason Finch had a solo home run for Sonoma. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Scorpions on top, 1-0.
