White Deer third baseman Jim Mann had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Mann went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs, even as London beat the Tropics, 5-4. The winner was Jim Autore, who threw 110 pitches over 7 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits. Kevin Farris notched his 4th save of the season.

It could have been a different outcome for London, had it not been for Mike Jamin, the 26-year old third baseman . Jamin contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put London up, 3-1.

Jamin told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
