Keys Lose Again, 3-2, to Sweepers

The Nashua Sweepers dealt the Long Beach Keys a 3-2 loss at Miller Park. Mike Middlebrooks was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Reliever Steven Rudolph picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Kyoshi Fujikawa, who is tied for 8th in the S-A in innings pitched with 57.0, took the loss. Matt Gardner, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Middlebrooks had a timely hit for Nashua in the bottom of the sixth. With Nashua trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Nashua.
"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Long Beach skipper Ron Kunkleman. "Wouldn't do any good."
The Keys have now dropped 8 straight.
