Werewolves Handle Aztecs, Nab 5-2 Win
|
Werewolves Ballpark was the site for Southern A action featuring the Mexico City Aztecs and London Werewolves.
The London Werewolves stymied the Mexico City Aztecs, 5-2, at Werewolves Ballpark. Lance Chmiel had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for London. London reliever Miguel de Leon picked up the win to move to 3-1. Bobby Fawbush suffered the loss. Angel Garabito earned the save, his 4th.
London went up, 5-2, on Aarto Turkula's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Turkula hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Mexico City pitcher Bobby Fawbush shaking his head.
"It was just a matter of executing," said London manager Adrian Mercado.
The 4th-place Werewolves sport a record of 18-25.
