Admirals Best Bowsers in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Barrie Admirals and the Columbus Bowsers, 23-year old left-handed pitcher Omar Lorenzo was the difference-maker. The Barrie left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Picking up his 12th save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jerardo Perez. Barrie is first in the Southern A West Division with a record of 28-11.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Columbus trailing 2-0, Jerardo Perez needed to get a big out. On a 1-2 circle change, Jeff Baker, who is tied for 3rd in the S-A in triples with 2, struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
