The Columbus Bowsers scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Nashua Sweepers at Ballpark of Columbus. Columbus pitcher Joe Giunta held his own in the contest. Columbus reliever Joseph Piotrowski picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Andrew Rogers was tagged with the loss. By defeating Nashua, the second-place Bowsers improved to 20-13.

In the bottom of the eighth, Columbus second baseman Yoneo Yamamoto gave his team the lead. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Big Thunder hit his 7th home run of the year. Nashua pitcher Andrew Rogers surrendered it. With that, the Bowsers jumped in front, 4-3.

"I'm happy we won," said Giunta. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
