Loss Tarnishes Fine Effort by Sargent
Though he had a terrific game, Mike Sargent could not prevent his team, the London Werewolves, from absorbing a loss. Kalamazoo won the game, 11-6. Sargent went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Jim Unknown closed out the game, earning his 1st save. The win gives Kalamazoo a record of 12-16.

Kalamazoo used the timely hitting of David Shein to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Comets on top, 8-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Glad to go home with a win," said Shein.
