Hammons Goes 5-for-5 Against Kalamazoo
|
Jeff Hammons put on a hitting clinic as the Pueblo Heroes dumped the Kalamazoo Comets, 6-3, at Wizards Stadium.
The Pueblo third baseman made Kalamazoo defenders earn their pay, lashing Kalamazoo pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Hammons said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Jeff Hammons hit a solo-shot off Justin Bunt in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
